Open Question: A young east European girl traveling alone to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?

It has been my dream for years to visit Rio de Janeiro. Now I seem to be very very close to fulfilling my dream. I got it all planed also when it comes to safety so here are my ideas how to stay safe in Rio that I figured alone or from other discussions: - I wanna stay at a hostel and meet other tourists and always hang out with them, especially in the beach and never go out alone - I want to meet people from couchsurfing.org to hang out too especially in the evening - I wont wear any jewelry, any bag and I will wear cheap ordinary clothes - I will use a disposable camera - I will carry money in my bra So what do you think? Have you got any other tips? I am generally a cautious person btw.
